hey thanks for the fav, and no problem adding Grey Horse to my favorites. Any pointers for my watercolor? I wasn't too thrilled with the outcome.

Particularly for a first watercolour, it's really amazing. My best advice is to work in sections, allowing one area to dry while you move to another for a bit. The pattern on the boot would be difficult for anyone, I think - reds are notoriously hard to work with in watercolour, and working around a pattern is pretty hard. You handled it well, though. The longer you "fiddle" with a damp brush in the paint, the darker the colour will appear on the paper. Another good tip - use watercolour dry instead of moist out of the tube (I don't know whether you did this or not, but it's a good general tip). It allows you to control the amount of water and paint on the brush more. :)

OK, thanks. I will have to try all of this, especially out of the tube b/c I used the watercolors that are hard and you add water to. I have the ones in the tube though.

:) Always happy to offer suggestions. I've been using a dry pallette for a long time, and it just seems to make it easier (and the paint lasts longer, too - a great bonus for a cheapskate like me).
